COMENTARIOS DEL CORREDOR

Based on a John Leather inspired French pilot boat ketch, - apart from the schooner rig - her lines have also been adapted with finer sections below the waterline to improve general sailing and upwind capabilities. RAGNAR is now an incredibly seaworthy blue water sailer; proven safe - and dry given her high bulwarks. Spacious and comfortable below decks she is nevertheless easy to handle by just two people. Indeed her owners have thus just completed a four year circumnavigation (30,000 nm) and after a new coat of paint and varnish will be ready to go again. She is meanwhile registered on the Mediterranean Circuit as a Classic (not Spirit of Tradition). RAGNAR has been much admired all over the world. Recently re caulked and repainted and seacocks renewed, her berth to September 2012 is also included.

Accommodation and domestic equipment

Interiors are light with white Tongue & Groove bulkheads and white panels contrasting with the varnished oak frames, beams and furniture.

From the lazarette with 2 hatches aft forward via the cockpit (over the engine) the accommodation is reached via a low doghouse with walk through headroom and seating with stowage lockers both side.

Down companionway steps amidships a doorway to port aft accesses the owner’s cabin. This has a double berth, locker stowage and 6 ft / 1.9 m headroom under the deck beams with a ½ skylight above. Across the companionway and aft is a single quarterberth. Aft of the owner’s cabin, engine and quarter berth is a watertight bulkhead.

Next fwd is a section of 4 deckbeams with lower headroom circa 5 ft 3 in / 1.6 m over the chart / Nav station to port – with opposite and fwd of the quarter berth an excellent working galley with headroom over 6 ft / 1.9 m. This contains a Force 10 gas stove with oven (gas bottle adaptors for around the world) and Danfoss fridge as well as appropriate stowage and stainless steel double sink with H&C pumped water.

Beyond is the saloon with to port a settee berth and locker space. Opposite is a L / U shaped settee with table offset to starboard. There are flush skylight / hatches both sides above. Headroom in the saloon exceeds 6 ft 6 in / 2 m. A Refleks Diesel heater provides warmth.

Beyond the saloon forward bulkhead is a cabin doorway to port with twin berths up and down and cupboard space. Opposite is a head to starboard with Seawater vacuum WC and shower just by the foremast.

A watertight bulkhead separates the accommodation space from the forepeak stowage with deck hatch access.
